appear
to indicate that the Canton Government fully supports the acta of the Canton Strike Committee and shares their aime. Accordingly at my request His Majesty's Acting Consul General addressed on Beptember 10th an official note to the Canton Government, to which no reply has been received, enquiring whether Sun Fo had been correctly reported and adding that the Hong Kong Government wished to know definitely whether it is or is not the policy of the present Canton Government to support the "Canton Strikers", to inflict on Hong Kong auch damage as is within its power and to develop the anti-British boycott throughout China. (4) Canton forces above and below Hankow are firing on British ships indiscriminately with field guns and rifles.
